FAIRFIELD, CT A routine traffic stop in Fairfield led to the arrest of an out-of-state fugitive, according to police.
Joel M. Day, 26, of Cleveland, Ohio, was charged with being a fugitive from justice after officers determined there was a warrant for his arrest in Ohio in connection with a probation violation for sexual assault of a minor, police said.
About noon June 6, officers stopped a red Chevrolet with expired temporary plates on Beach Road, according to police, who said the driver repeatedly lied about his name but was eventually identified as Day. A records check revealed the warrant, police said.
