Nigeria may have earned over N318bn additionally in February as a result of the increase in crude oil price in the past one month.
At the virtual presentation of the 2021 Federal Government approved budget in January, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, had stated that Nigeria’s benchmark for crude oil price was retained at $40/barrel.
Since February this year, Brent, the oil against which Nigeria’s crude oil is priced, had traded at an average that was higher than $60/barrel.
It traded for $63.81/barrel on Thursday.

There’s palpable fear in Delta State as the Eshanekpe Israel, a.k.a Akpodoro-led Sector ‘C’ Command of the Surveillance Team of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Delta State battles oil thieves, product adulterators, impostors, who have allegedly established themselves in the oil-rich state.
A statement issued in Ughelli, by Eshanekpe on Wednesday, stated that criminal cartels, who have taken root in the state over time are posing major threats to the works of the Chinedu Okoronkwo’s established surveillance team, a development the ex-militant leader noted is dangerous with potentials to impede the war against oil thieves in the state.

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN) Kano state branch has commended the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for the prompt measures it has taken to address the fuel scarcity which resurfaced a few days ago.
The IPMAN Chairman, Alhaji Bashir Danmalam, made the commendation on Tuesday in Kano while inaugurating an ad-hoc committee set up to ensure prompt distribution of the commodity.
He said the commendation was also necessary following the NNPC order to all its depots across the country to intensify efforts in their operations to end the scarcity which reared its ugly head few days ago.
