LOS ANGELES (CNS) Rep. Ted Lieu Tuesday called for an investigation by the Environmental Protection Agency and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration into the 17-million gallon sewage spill into the Pacific Ocean from the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Two Los Angeles City Council members introduced a motion today to instruct the city s sanitation department to submit a report on how public notification can be improved after the department and the LA County Department of Public Health did not immediately notify the public of a 17- million gallon sewage spill.
The motion was introduced by Councilmen Mitch O Farrell and Paul Koretz, and seeks answers about how LA Sanitation and Environment coordinated with the health department to notify the public about the July 11 spill from the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant.
