The Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation (the Foundation) has awarded UNM Professor Reed Benson the Clyde O. Martz Teaching Award, making Benson the first recipient of the award at UNM.
“I am very honored to receive this award, and grateful for all the ways the Foundation supports legal education, Benson said.
The Foundation selected Benson for the award noting he embodies the highest qualities of a teacher and mentor to students and lawyers. Since he began teaching at the University of Wyoming, then moving to the University of New Mexico, he has been an outstanding teacher of water, natural resources and public lands, and administrative law, both in the classroom and in countless presentations given at Foundation institutes and other non-profit and governmental organizations.
