Premium Content Subscriber only A nature photographer faces the possibility of months in a wheelchair after he was nearly killed by a falling tree while shooting at Buderim Falls. Sunshine Coast dad Shane Farmer, 43, was on his final click of the day when he heard a crack from above. A waterlogged tree about 4m long came crashing down onto his head and knocked him into rocks and water below. The crack was the last thing he remembered before he regained consciousness while being stretchered out of the popular walking trial by about 15 emergency service personnel. Mr Farmer was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition about 1pm on Wednesday, February 3.

Rhys Dean Cubby-Roadley, 19, yelled you re dead, I m going to f - you up before plunging a knife into the victim s stomach and the back of his shoulder during an unprovoked fight in Mooloolaba last year. The victim, his sister and a group of friends were leaving a venue and waiting for an Uber near Brisbane Rd just before 1am on July 1 when a blind drunk Cubby-Roadley walked towards them. Maroochydore District Court heard the victim and his sister were tourists on a road trip from Brisbane to Cairns and had stopped to visit the Coast.

Teen flown to hospital after serious horse fall

Premium Content Subscriber only The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a teenage girl to hospital after she was thrown from a horse in the South Burnett. The aeromedical crew was tasked to a private property just after 3pm this afternoon. The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic worked with local QAS personnel to treat the rider. She suffered multiple injuries, including a possible head injury. The rescue crew flew the girl to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition. More Stories

Premium Content UPDATE 2PM: A man has been taken to hospital after he was trapped inside a vehicle during a crash on Tuesday Emergency services were called to the scene of a car and truck collision on Eenie Creek Rd in Noosaville just after midday. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man has been taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with a head injury. EARLIER: Emergency services are working to free a man after a car and truck collided at Noosaville on Tuesday afternoon. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were called to the corner Eenie Creek Rd and Reef St just after 12pm.
