The state Legislature is considering ending the COVID-era restriction, which was created last year by Governor Cuomo as a way of reducing mingling as restaurants and bars began reopening. In a statement, State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins says the policy is no longer necessary as more people are becoming vaccinated. Both the State Senate and Assembly are expected to pass the repeal in Albany today. Many lawmakers and business owners have been pushing for its repeal since it was enacted last July.
