Richmond Times-Dispatch
On a recent morning, customers walking into the CVS Pharmacy at 2738 West Broad St. in Richmond were met with several pieces of information at the front entrance.
Two of them were related to COVID-19 vaccinations: First, shots were not yet available at this location (neither was testing for the coronavirus at this particular store). And second, to stay updated on the vaccine, people were encouraged to scan a QR code with their cellphones, pointing them to online resources.
In the days and weeks ahead, we hope the messaging describing whatâs not possible will change toward what is doable. With COVID-19 vaccines finally headed to a handful of local pharmacies, will this be the end of the lotterylike process?
Winter storms sprawling across the U.S. that have burst pipes, left millions without power in freezing temperatures and fueled severe food shortages are now disrupting Virginia’s weekly vaccine shipments.

Those who were scheduled to get a second dose of the vaccine next week will be contacted by health district staff during the week of March 1 to be scheduled for a vaccination appointment that same week.
Wegmans COVID Vaccine Registration Details and How To Book an Appointment
On 2/18/21 at 11:13 AM EST
Wegmans, the supermarket chain with stores in several East Coast states, is offering COVID-19 vaccinations at select locations. Those eligible can register to receive the vaccine by booking an appointment at the Wegmans website.
The company is currently offering appointments at select pharmacy locations in New York State, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Virginia. The company expects to receive a limited supply of the vaccine on a regular basis to vaccinate those currently eligible.
Wegmans advises: The amount of vaccine we receive starts with the federal government, who first allocates a certain number of vaccinations to each state. From there, the state determines how much goes to each region and provider.
