La Pine Man Found Safe
Just after 7:00pm Saturday evening, Darrell Love was found in the forested area to the east of Darlene Way, near La Pine. he was evaluated by La Pine Fire for cold exposure, then reunited with family.
Search crews had been looking for the 56 year year old La Pine man after his father reported him missing Saturday morning.

Two arrested in shooting incident near Sisters Saturday, March 6, 2021 6:57 AM
Two 19-year-olds have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in the forest outside Sisters on January 17.
In that incident, a mid-1990s Chevrolet Tahoe was shot multiple times by an unknown subject near a long-term camp in the area of USFS Road 1510 near the 450 spur, approximately five miles west of Sisters. The vehicle was in very close proximity to a tent that was being used for housing.
Since the shooting, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) have conducted numerous follow-up interviews and collected additional evidence. According to DCSO, deputies developed enough information to be granted a search warrant for a residence in Crossroads, west of Sisters.

Two Bend residents escaped serious injury when the Outlaw Aviation Cessna 172 they were flying went down in a field to the west of the runway at Sisters Eagle Airport on the evening of Wednesday, March 3.
The pilot, Madison Stieber, 23, received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by private vehicle to St. Charles-Bend, where she was treated and released. The passenger, Connor Schaab, 24, received minor injuries and was evaluated by medics from the Sisters-Camp Sherman Rural Fire Protection District at the scene. Schaab was not transported to the hospital. Both Stieber and Schaab had gotten out of the plane, prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
Bend Woman Shot, Cited For Stalking
Police say a 70 year old Bend man was trying to protect himself when he shot a 55 year old woman who was allegedly stalking him. Deana Dye was cited on multiple charges related to the Feb. 27th incident at 25000 block of Alfalfa Market Road. In lieu of custody she is receiving medical care and is expected to recover from the injury. According to DCSO:
Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office detectives have been actively investigating this case. Detectives served a search warrant on the property and collected evidence from the night of the incident. Based on statements they received and evidence recovered from the scene it was determined that the male victim was trying to protect himself from Deana Dye when he shot her.
