Somerset County officials announced an investigation into a shooting that may have occurred in the area of Hamilton Street in the late evening hours of Monday, May 31, in Franklin Township.
Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson stated that on May 31, at approximately 10:26 p.m., Franklin Township Police officers were dispatched to an area hospital for a wounded victim that was reportedly shot while in the area of Hamilton Street in Franklin Township.

Robert C. Cepeda had gotten off an NJ Transit commuter bus on the westbound side of Route 28 with two co-workers when he was struck near Chimney Rock Road while walking across an intersection toward a nearby convenience store, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.
