A mother was killed, and her 3-year-old son was injured in a crash Thursday morning in Somerset County, deputies said.
The crash was reported just before 6:30 a.m. on Palmyra Road in St. Albans, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.Sign up for our Newsletters
Officials said the car Chelsey Roy, 24, of St. Albans, was driving went off the road and hit a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Roy’s 3-year-old son survived the crash and was taken to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield with non-life-threatening injuries.

The former owner of a Waterville medical marijuana business was sentenced Monday in Bangor federal court to 27 months in prison for drug and firearm charges.
Daniel Hall, 32, of Benton, had pled guilty in January to distribution of cocaine and marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of firearms by an unlawful user of controlled substances.
Hall was previously the owner of Green Thumb Organics, a medical marijuana store at 45 Armory Road, Waterville.
On Jan. 29, 2020, he distributed cocaine and marijuana at his business to a confidential informant who did not have a medical marijuana patient card, Acting U.S. Attorney Donald E. Clark said in a news release.

FARMINGTON (WGME) Police say a one-night crime spree in Franklin and Somerset counties caused thousands of dollars in damages after multiple houses and vehicles were damaged by young people with BB guns.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says residents in Industry, Farmington, and Wilton awoke on April 20 to find damage to homes and vehicles.
Four Industry residents reported damaged vehicles, seven Farmington residents reported damage to vehicles and homes, and two Wilton residents also reported damage to their vehicles and homes, according to police.
