April 25th has been named “Corporal Eugene Cole Day” in Maine. Cole was fatally shot by John Williams on April 25th, 2018 in Norridgewock. Williams was sentenced to life in prison. Law enforcement agencies around the state are remembering Corporal Cole. On social media, Sheriff Lancaster with the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office said Friday they will always remember Cole and his exceptional service to the agency “and to the residents of Somerset County.”
