Vacaville Felon Indicted for Possessing Ammunition Published: 27 February 2021 Sacramento, California - A federal grand jury returned a two-count indictment Thursday against Guy Joseph Bass, 29, of Vacaville, charging him with being a felon in possession of ammunition, U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced. According to court documents, on September 18, 2020, police officers arrested Bass on an outstanding arrest warrant. During the arrest, officers searched Bass and found a Glock style ghost gun loaded with an extended magazine containing 17 rounds. Additionally, on November 18, 2020, police officers approached a parked vehicle with two occupants. A K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, and Bass handed a bag containing approximately a quarter ounce of suspected methamphetamine to the officers. Chief Deputy District Attorney Sharon Henry opposed Ayers’ release at the hearing, arguing he “poses a high risk for future violence if released on parole,” the statement said. Solano DA releases new details in deadly CHP shooting along I-80 An outside review of the circumstances that led to the shooting continues. Two California Highway Patrol officers investigating reports of a single-vehicle crash shortly after 10:30 p.m. Jan. 30 on westbound I-80 west of Dixon Avenue in the area of Oday Road, which fronts I-80 for a stretch between Dixon and Vacaville, shot the man in the vehicle after he pulled a loaded gun on them, authorities report. The names of the two officers were not released. District Attorney Krishna Abrams’ office issued an update Friday that states the man was armed with a handgun and drew it on the officers before they shot him.
