My fellow Slovenians, dear fellow citizens!
Yugoslavia is gone, now it’s about Slovenia.
Dr. Jože Pučnik, the father of the independent Slovenia, used these words to mark the moment of the most important decision in the history of the Slovenian nation. The time, the only time when people truly and literally wrote their own judgment. And the judgment was majestic, resounding across the world as well as in the soul and heart of each Slovenian. Everyone who circled the option for an independent Slovenia, regardless of their origin, became part of the Slovenian community, part of the nation in the modern sense of the word. As a poet wrote in those days: our souls were captured by ceremonious splendour and our hearts were filled with warmth. We knew what we were, and this was what we wanted to be. An article posted by a weekly associated with the party of Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša describes the novel coronavirus as having been sent to Earth by God in order to protect white people and has become a political scandal in Slovenia. The editor faces criminal charges and the opposition is calling for the governing party s coalition partners to distance themselves from the piece, according to the Hina news agency. God created the virus to protect the more advanced white race from corruption, a virus that infects just certain people, races, and individuals with certain characteristics, the weekly Demokratija (Democracy) posted last Monday. This is, therefore, about targeted clearance, just like how people get rid of harmful species, molds and weeds.
