Back in October of 2020, the Detroit Free Press (Freep) reported Michigan s correctional facilities would no longer give inmates original copies of their personal mail (ie: letters, cards, drawings, etc.) and instead give them black-and-white photocopies as a way to curb the amount of drugs coming in. Chris Gautz, department spokesman, told Freep in October that from January to September of 2020, there were 122 instances of contraband coming through the mail, an increase from the year before.

Jackson County Sheriff Seeks Shooting Suspect

  Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies are attempting to locate the suspect in a shooting from Tuesday, Feb. 23rd in Waterloo Township. Deputies were dispatched to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor for a shooting that reportedly occurred in the 10000 block of Waterloo Munith Rd. in Waterloo Township.  The victim, a 33 year old man from Waterloo Township, had a verbal altercation with the suspect.  During the altercation the suspect obtained a shotgun, shot the victim in the leg, and fled the scene. The suspect is 38-year-old Darvin D. Cole from Henrietta Township.  Cole is currently out of jail on bond for snowmobile theft.  Cole has a felony warrant for larceny of a firearm and a misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court.  Investigators are seeking charges of attempted murder for this shooting.  Darvin Cole is considered armed and dangerous.  IF you have information about Cole’s whereabouts contact any of the following:

Michigan Real Estate Agents Threatened in New Scam There are so many scams that are going around, and it seems like there have been more then usual since the start of the pandemic. I had one just a few weeks ago. I got an email saying I was caught on camera for going over the speed limit. It wanted me to click below to pay the fine and it would not go on my driving record. It also said there would be a warrant for my arrest if I did not pay it.  Now I knew is was bologna, but I wonder if a handful of people actually paid it.
