Police are appealing for dashcam footage as they continue to investigate a suspected road-rage incident near Newcastle last month. Police have been told.
The rider was struck by a Hyundai on Wilfred Barrett Drive at Magenta around 1.30pm on Sunday.
The 72-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, where he later died.
A 66-year-old woman driving the Hyundai wasn’t injured and has undergone mandatory testing.
Police are investigating the incident and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Cyclist dies after being hit by car – Magenta
A cyclist has died after being hit by a car at the state’s central coast.
About 1.30pm today (Sunday 6 June 2021), a cyclist and a Hyundai collided on Wilfred Barrett Drive, Magenta.
The cyclist, a 72-year-old, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he later died.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 66-year-old woman, was not injured and underwent mandatory testing.
Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
