To reward employee hard work, commitment and risk exposure during the coronavirus pandemic, Johnson County Healthcare Center CEO Sean McCallister crafted a hazard payout plan for staff who worked between March 2020 to January 2021 and presented that plan to the board at their January 27 meeting. “We appreciate their individual and collective efforts during this unique and challenging public health emergency,” McCallister said. “We are extremely proud of the courage, poise, preparation, skill and teamwork demonstrated by our entire team.”

Johnson County Healthcare Center employees will be receiving a one-time COVID-19 hazard payout totaling nearly $1 million, according to a release from the facility. CEO Sean McCallister put together a plan for the payout in appreciation for staff who “weathered the pandemic with admirable poise and unwavering dedication.” The plan will give employees who worked from March of 2020 through January of 2021 the one-time payment for full-time employees,of $500 per month for the 10-month period, totaling $5,000; part-time employees will receive $250 per month or a total of $2,500; and per-diem employees will receive $100 per month for a total of $1,000. McCallister said, “We appreciate their individual and collective efforts during this unique and challenging public health emergency. We are extremely proud of the courage, poise, preparation, skill and teamwork demonstrated by our entire team.”

JCHC COVID Projects Done, Architect Gives Summary – Sheridan Media

The COVID-19 projects at the Johnson County Healthcare Center are complete, and all documentation for them has been submitted to the State Loan and Investments Board, or SLIB, for the facility to be reimbursed. Dan Odasz, with Plan One Architects, gave an overview of the projects to the board of trustees at their meeting Wednesday night. The projects include the installation of five new air-handling units to replace the existing ventilation system; renovations of the family waiting room in the acute care area; the surgery patient recovery area; and the sterilization area. JCHC CEO Sean McCallister said the final cost of the projects came in under the engineer’s estimates.

JCHC Speaks on Testing, Vaccine and Vaccinations – Sheridan Media

The Johnson County Healthcare Center updated the media on their status concerning the COVID-19 virus during the EOC Briefing Tuesday. JCHC CEO Sean McCallister said the hospital has nine inpatients, none of which are COVID-positive, and they have no staff members currently out with the virus or because of quarantine. They have begun administering second doses of the vaccine for staff, and next week they will be giving second doses in the nursing home and assisting Public Health to give second doses to other long-term care facilities. McCallister said that there currently is no mandate for staff to get the COVID vaccine and explained why.

Wellness Screenings a Go, In-person Event a No – Sheridan Media

The wellness screenings will be offered in both Buffalo and Kaycee. According to the release, community members must make an appointment and the screenings will be administered at the JCHC for Buffalo patients, and at the Kaycee Clinic for Kaycee residents. Appointments will be taken for screenings in Buffalo on February 2 nd and 3 nd and 3 Kaycee screenings will be taken on February 11 th and 12 th from 7 to 9am. There are some requirements for the screenings, and information on how to make an appointment online or by phone is listed below. Those who have an appointment in Buffalo will be asked to come to the Johnson County Healthcare Center at the time of their appointment and park in the north parking lot.
