Days after toddler drowns, another North Texas child dies in swimming pool accident

May 10 FORT WORTH A 3-year-old girl died Saturday in a swimming pool accident in Johnson County, the second child to drown in a water accident in North Texas within a week.
The 2-year-old great grand-son of televangelist Kenneth Copeland died on May 4 in a Tarrant County swimming pool accident.
As of Friday, 14 children had drowned in Texas in 2021, according to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Harris County had the most deaths with four, followed by Dallas County with two. Tarrant County had one.

Destiney Hope Kight, 18, and Charlie Jaylon Garrett, 18 were found deceased with apparent gunshot wounds
Daniel Payton Brinson, 22, of Harrison was issued an arrest warrant Wednesday
He had previously been jailed on unrelated drug charges on April 26
No motive has been released, but Brinson was an associate of Garrett

WRIGHTSVILLE, Ga. A Washington County man is now facing two murder charges in the April killing of a Wrightsville teen couple.
It s been two weeks since the death of Destiny Kight and Charles Garrett.
The Johnson County Sheriff s Office held a news conference Friday morning where they announced that they ve charged the man who they believe killed her.
The father of Kight, Will Newsome said, The smile, the look in their eyes, you know they loved one another.
On April 23, Tosha and Will Newsome lost their daughter Destiny and her boyfriend Charles.

WRIGHTSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has named a suspect in the Johnson County murders of two teenagers.
22-year old Daniel Payton Brinson of Washington County is charged with two counts of malice murder for the deaths of 18-year old Destiny Hope Kight of Wrightsville and 18-year old Charles Jaylon Garrett of East Dublin.
Kight and Garrett were found dead at 1383 Paul Lord Road in Wrightsville on April 23rd. They had been shot.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest Friday morning. According to a news release from the GBI, Brinson knew Garrett, and the investigation is ongoing.
