GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Sheriffâs Office is crediting new camera technology for the arrests of two men.
Authorities say they arrested Michael Andrew Gibson, 46, of Goose Creek and William Steven Lowen, 43, of Walterboro after a brief police chase.
Deputies say they identified a 2018 GMC Denali as a vehicle reported stolen from a Carmax dealership in Lexington, S.C. using information from a camera system installed by Sheriff Carter Weaver.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - The North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety promoted a female to the rank of captain for the first time in 20 years.
Capt. Dana Crowell has been with the NMBDPS for 19 years.
The Loris native started at the department after graduating from the University of Louisville in 2002.
Over the years, Crowell has worked in several different roles including field training officer and K9 handler.

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) â Two suspected thieves are in custody and the Georgetown County Sheriffâs Office says it has some new technology to thank.
On Monday, deputies identified a 2018 GMC Denali as a reported stolen vehicle from a dealership in Lexington, South Carolina. They used information relayed from a camera system installed by Sheriff Carter Weaver in the past six months.
Deputies said after a brief chase, they were able to take the driver and passenger into custody near Helena Drive and South Island Road in the Maryville community of Georgetown County.

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Deputies are searching for a driver after a woman was stabbed then dragged by a car in Georgetown County on Friday afternoon. It happened outside a home on Jeremiah Drive in Plantersville.
Officials with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said it was initially reported as someone getting hit by a car, however deputies also learned that the victim was also stabbed.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident involved two women who live at the same address.
