Jason Terrell Jones, who was injured during the shooting, is the second man to be taken into custody in connection with the incident that occurred at a Motel 6, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

(WMBF) – A Horry County man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly threatening law enforcement officers during a traffic stop. Online records from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center state 57-year-old Kevin Robert Coyne was booked Jan. 22 on charges of threatening the life, person or family of a public employee, and public disorderly conduct. He was released on Jan. 23 on a $500 bond. According to a report from the Horry County Police Department, officers saw a vehicle being operated without taillights in the area of Holmestown Road and S.C. 707 around 10:14 p.m. on Jan. 22.

An arrest warrant states the female victim “did attempt to flee but was pulled back” and sexually assaulted by the suspect.
