A man has been charged with shooting and killing a father-to-be last year on a bridge over Interstate 81 in Syracuse. Hosea Hanslip, 29, of Syracuse, was arrested this week for the murder of Joel Saldana, according to a felony complaint filed in Syracuse City Court. He has been accused of intentionally killing Saldana, of Syracuse, a few blocks from Destiny USA on New Year’s Eve.

St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center’s nursing school has been asked to refund $10.5 million to the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, CMS for short. Crouse Hospital’s nursing school has to repay about $4 million. They are two of about 120 hospital-based nursing schools nationwide being asked to refund overpayments to CMS that occurred between 2002 and 2018. A miscalculation by CMS caused the overpayments.
