Low-pressure storm brings snow, more expected Monday

Victorville Daily Press Saturday night’s low-pressure storm system brought more precipitation than originally expected as residents in Apple Valley and Hesperia woke up to their yards and cars covered in snow. The snowfall there, and in the local mountains  which received about a foot of snow  was unexpected, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Adam Roser.  The local mountains saw heavy traffic, according to traffic maps, with both Highways 2 and 18, where chains or a 4x4 vehicle are required, showing heavy spots of traffic Sunday afternoon.  California Highway Patrol logs Sunday afternoon showed that vehicles were blocking lanes on Highway 2 in the Wrightwood area to “play in the snow.” CHP had chain control established at Highway 138 and Beekley Road in the area.
