JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - Two suspects are wanted in Jones County following an armed carjacking that happened Saturday.
According to the Jones County Sheriffâs Department, 26-year-old Latray White and 21-year-old Tryeese Smith are wanted for the armed carjacking that took place on Hales Road north of Sandersville.
Both suspects are âconsidered armed and dangerousâ by JCSD.

JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - A Laurel woman killed by a vehicle in Jones County Wednesday night has been identified.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Sgt. Travis Luck said a preliminary investigation revealed a Chevrolet Malibu traveling north on U.S. Highway 11 hit a woman in the roadway around 7:40 p.m. The Jones County Sheriff’s Department said it happened between Laurel and Sandersville.
MHP identified the woman as 29-year-old Kerri Kelly. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

ELLISVILLE Miss. (WDAM) - Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash in Jones County that claimed the life of a log truck driver Thursday morning.
The crash happened on State Route 590 at River Road around 6:48 a.m., according to Jones Council Fire Council spokesperson Dana Bumgardner.
A log truck and a school bus were involved in a collision between Phillips Road East and Old Watermill Road.

JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - A utility trailer and an ATV that was stolen earlier this week have been recovered by authorities.
According to the Jones County Sheriff’s Department, deputies and investigators recovered the stolen 16-foot utility trailer and Honda Foreman 4-wheeler after receiving a tip about the items.
The utility trailer and ATV were reported stolen after a surveillance video caught a couple stealing the two items on Kenneth Jones Road Wednesday at 2 a.m.

LAUREL, Miss. (WDAM) - An investigation is underway following a shooting that left one man dead Tuesday night.
According to the Jones County Sheriffâs Department, the shooting took place at a home on U.S. Highway 11.
The name of the victim has not been released as next to kin are being notified.
Several individuals were questioned at the scene after the shooting and no charges have been filed at this time.
