The guilty plea was entered on Oct. 14. On December 11, the court imposed a fine of $10,000, along with a $4,000 surcharge, for a total fine of $14,000. The violation stemmed from an incident that occurred on Sept. 20, 2018, near Wawota. A load of material fell from the forks of a skid steer, injuring a worker. Employers are required to provide safe and healthy workplaces, and must provide information, training and experience necessary for employees to perform their jobs safely.
