Former Dunfermline man given another jail sentence for assaulting partner

Serial offender Anthony Godden had been put on a five-year non-harassment order banning contact with his partner. However, the order was ignored by the couple, who continued their long-term relationship, resulting in another assault. Godden, 35, currently a prisoner at Perth, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court by video-link from jail. He admitted that on November 21, at Bethune Way, Buckhaven, he assaulted his partner by seizing her repeatedly by the neck, pushing her over a sofa and struggled with her, all to her injury. He also admitted that having been made subject to a non-harassment order on December 4, 2019, he breached this by being with his partner on November 21.

EVERY legal option available should be used to force the owners of the environmental dump at Lathalmond to be cleared. Mid Scotland and Fife MSP Alex Rowley has urged the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and Fife Council to initiate legal action against Trans-Brittania after being advised by SEPA that they had reneged on their promise to bring forward an options appraisal costed to remove the rubbish and clean up the site. The 30-feet-high pile of rubbish has blighted the landscape at the M90 Commerce Park, near Kelty, for almost a decade, after being dumped there since recycling firm First Option Services ceased trading in June 2012.

This was despite 53-year-old Dan Muresan having had to travel to Fife from his home in England. There were also a number of witnesses waiting at Dunfermline Sheriff Court to give evidence. A sheriff lamented the lack of headphone facilities in Scottish courts, pointing out they have been around since back in the 1940s for the Nuremburg war crimes trials. The allegation of driving under the influence of alcohol and crashing on the M90 near Dunfermline goes back almost three years.
