Heavily-intoxicated David Sutherland became abusive to the woman and started throwing Jaffa Cakes at her. Sutherland, 49, of Urquhart Crescent, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. He admitted that on January 11, at Broomhead Drive, he shouted and swore towards a female, threw food items towards her and then acted in an aggressive manner, threatening police officers with violence. Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said the woman heard someone whistling loudly outside. She was trying to get her one-year-old child to sleep and asked Sutherland to keep the noise down. “Who are you talking to?” he responded. The depute went on: “She had previous incidents of people shouting outside her flat and told him she was going to call the police.”

Two police officers are to stand trial over claims they attacked a suspect before lying in court about it.
Steven Harker, 35, and Gordon Butchart, 30, allegedly committed perjury during a trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court in June 2019.
The officers allegedly struck a man’s head against a wall and repeatedly stabbed him with keys the previous year.
Harker and Butchart deny the allegations.
They are charged with committing perjury after giving evidence in the trial against Michael Wallace and Catherine Dolan.
Greg McCubbin had been caught previously with another offensive weapon, a knuckleduster. McCubbin, 28, of Houldsworth Street, Blairhall, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for a series of offences. He admitted that on April 29, at his home and elsewhere, he had with him an offensive weapon, a knuckleduster. He also admitted on January 2, at Tyrwhitt Place, Rosyth, and Baird Crescent, Leven, he drove a car without a valid licence and without insurance. Then, on January 22, at Primrose Lane Industrial Estate, Rosyth, he was in possession of ecstasy, a class A drug, with intent to supply. He also admitted he was unlawfully in possession of an offensive weapon, a hammer, on that occasion.
