Coronavirus: Shopper jailed after row over one-way system in Rosyth supermarket

A ROW over a one-way system introduced in a Rosyth shop as part of COVID safety measures has led to a jail sentence for a local man. Andrew Dempster returned to the Co-op store just days after being barred for not complying with the one-way rules in the aisles. When told he was banned, the 40-year-old got into another row with shopworkers and ended up being arrested. In the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing was Dempster, of Alexander Place, Rosyth. He admitted previously that on May 14, at the Co-op store, Castlandhill Road, he acted in an aggressive manner towards a female employee and raised his voice towards her.

M90 crash: Woman injured in crash caused by driver who was agitated after being dumped

The woman lost control of her vehicle, crashed into the central reservation barrier and required hospital treatment. The driver who caused the collision, Andrew Herd, did not stop. He had driven up from England after his partner phoned to say their relationship was over. He has now appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court where he was fined £2,300 and banned from driving for three years. Herd, 31, of Stewart Street, Dysart, admitted that on October 8, 2019, on the M90 northbound, near Dunfermline, he drove a van dangerously. He drove repeatedly in an erratic manner between lanes, collided with a car; causing the driver to lose control, colliding with the central reservation barrier; and he drove into the path of another vehicle, causing the driver to take evasive action.

High Valleyfield incident: Woman attacked violently by partner

He then threatened to petrol-bomb the homes of the woman’s family. The incident occurred when the couple were staying with a friend in High Valleyfield just before Christmas. Sandy Ross, 27, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. He admitted that on December 19, at Pentland Terrace, High Valleyfield, he assaulted his partner and kicked her on the body repeatedly, to her injury. He also admitted that in a phone call to another female, he shouted, swore, made threats towards her and threats to damage property. Depute fiscal Laura McManus said the couple were now separated but had been in a relationship at the time and that the partner was pregnant, although this had not been confirmed by the Crown.

Driver on drugs overturned car near Dalgety Bay

POLICE were called to the scene of a car which had overturned on a country road near Dalgety Bay. When they found a man wandering on the road about a mile away, he threw away his car key. James Grant submitted guilty pleas to two charges at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. Grant, 40, of Kingdom Court, Cupar, admitted that on April 5, on the B9157, he drove a car when unfit to do so through drink or drugs. He also admitted he drove without insurance. Police were called to the scene at around 11.30pm after receiving a report that a Vauxhall Astra had overturned and a male had been seen leaving the vehicle.
