(WTXL) — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating after an officer-involved shooting in Gadsden County on Monday morning. According to GCSO, at approximately 1:30 a.m. the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office and the Quincy Police Department responded to a call involving an armed suspect holding a female at gunpoint. GCSO says the suspect refused to comply with verbal commands from law enforcement and pointed his gun at the officers. A GCSO deputy then fired one shot which resulted in a non-life-threatening injury to the suspect, who then dropped the firearm and released the victim.

As Florida s COVID-19 vaccine age eligibility expands to include those age 16 and older, Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is hosting a drive-thru vaccine clinic beginning April 5. People who are interested can register at https://www.clockwisemd.com/hospitals/6538/visits/new. The clinic will be located at 1528 Surgeons Drive. People can select a time between 9:20 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. COVID-19 in Leon County:  A total of 29,424 Leon County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, an increase of 20 cases since Tuesday. Two-week positivity rate: roughly 2.5%. Confirmed deaths:  The Florida Department of Health reported two more deaths among Leon County residents on Wednesday. New total: 305.

(WTXL) — Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare announced Wednesday there are no patients with coronavirus in the facility. Jaclynn Moss, the Internal Medicine and COVID-19 Unit Nurse Manager at TMH confirmed that on Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. they released their last two coronavirus patients. I can t put into words what this year has been. It s very hard for me because there are so many emotions that go along with it, said Moss. TMH, as well as Leon County, saw its first COVID-19 case on March 18, 2020. Moss said this is the first time she and her team have been able to stop and reflect on the journey they ve all gone through.
