Cass City s council selects firm for wastewater treatment renovations

CASS CITY Cass City officials tackled one of the first steps in renovating the community’s aging wastewater treatment plant by hiring an engineering and construction firm during a recent village council meeting.
Spicer Engineering, Johnson Controls, Fleis and Vanderbrink, and Fishbeck-Townely Engineering responded to the village s request for qualifications.
The council approved Fishbeck’s proposal and professional service agreement at a cost of $61,400.
To fund that, $22,000 will come from the village’s sewer fund balance and $40,000 from a reserve expense account.
