An investigation is underway after a young male was fatally shot in Tuscaloosa.
The shooting happened about 11 p.m. Tuesday near Fosters Ferry Road and 21st Street. Tuscaloosa police arrived at the scene to find the 16-year-old victim wounded inside a vehicle.
He was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit remained at the shooting site throughout the night and into Wednesday. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the street.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - Two people have been charged with capital murder and attempted murder following the death of a 16-year-old boy.
Tuscaloosa Police officers confirmed Xzorian Gray was shot and killed in the shooting on Fosters Ferry Road and 21st Street around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Gray was taken to a hospital for treatment but died.
Jashon Griffin, 22, is charged with Capital Murder and Attempted Murder. He’s is being held without bond.

TUSCALOOSA Co., Ala. (WBRC) - Tuscaloosa County deputies and officers with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said a man assaulted a woman and forced her to stay in a car trunk for âan extended period of time.â
Investigators were called to a house on Crescent Ridge Road in Holt Thursday, April 29.
Officers said a woman had walked to a neighborâs residence requesting help and police. Investigators said the suspect, Billy Phillips, age 45, got mad during an argument with the victim, assaulted her with a knife, and forced the victim to stay in the trunk of a vehicle for an extended period of time.
