Tuscaloosa police investigate murder-suicide at the Dixie Pulp and Paper Plant Share Updated: 11:56 AM CDT Mar 16, 2021 Linda Grantin SOURCE: WVTM 13 Share Updated: 11:56 AM CDT Mar 16, 2021 Linda Grantin The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting at the Dixie Pulp and Paper Plant at 1330 Commerce Drive.Officers responded at 11:32 p.m. Monday to find two men dead in the parking lot.The shooting happened after a shift change and both men were employed by the plant, officials said.According to witnesses, the shooter shot the victim multiple times before turning the gun on himself. Investigators have identified the shooter as Demorius Mondreal Polke, 27, and the victim identified as Sean Michael Barrett, 33.Officials said they do not believe there are any more suspects and there is no danger to the public.The investigation continues.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - A Tuscaloosa man is accused of hitting his pregnant wife intentionally with a car.
Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violence Crimes Unit responded at the request of the Tuscaloosa Police Department to 15th Street at the I-359 overpass Monday morning at 8:15.
Investigators said 22-year-old Canaan Johnson intentionally struck his pregnant wife with a vehicle.
Johnson was arrested for two counts of Attempted Murder and Kidnapping 1.
Multiple witnesses cooperated in the investigation.
