Doctor Martin Stallone, CEO of Cayuga Health System, said in his opening remarks that reaching 50-thousand doses was achieved thanks to Tompkins County, CHS, the New York State Department of Health, and Governor Cuomo’s office working together.
A ceremony was held Thursday morning at the Shops at Ithaca Mall, the primary locations for COVID-19 vaccines and testing in Tompkins County.

The Tompkins County Health Department and Cayuga Medical System will hold vaccination clinics for everyone 18 and older at the Ithaca Mall and for Newfield residents in the Village of Newfield on Thursday.
Tompkins County health officials say Johnson & Johnson vaccine previously allocated to Tompkins County will be administered at the clinics.
Following the pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine due to very rare blood clots, and a review of data, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the use of the vaccine stating the benefits of the vaccine far outweigh its risks.
