Ali, former general secretary of Dhaka University Central Students Union, breathed his last at 7.30 am on Wednesday at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital, said CPB leader Ruhin Hossain Prince. He was admitted to BSMMU on Mar 26 after suffering a stroke. He was suffering from different ailments for a long time and was on life support in hospital for eight days, Ruhin said.
Ali had served the DUCSU as its general secretary from 1966 to 1967. He was a member of CPB Control Commission, a founder of Bangladesh Trade Union Centre and former president of Bangladesh Krishak Samity.

Murshed Ali, a freedom fighter and a leader of Communist Party of Bangladesh, died at BSMMU in Dhaka this morning. He was 76.
The former General Secretary of Dhaka University Central Students Union (DUCSU) was admitted to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) on March 26 after suffering a brain stroke.
He was put on life support at the hospital several times, CPB Dhaka Committee General Secretary Sajedul Huq Rubel told The Daily Star.
Murshed Ali was a member of the Central Control Commission of CPB, a supreme disciplinary body of the party.

DHAKA, April 7, 2021 (BSS) – Former Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) General Secretary and control commission member of Communist Party of Bangladesh Bir Muktijoddha Morshed Ali passed away at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital here this morning.
He was 78.
Morshed Ali left behind his wife, a daughter and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Morshed Ali.
In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Report in rape abetment case against Nur on April 21

DHAKA, April 04, 2021 (BSS) –A court here today set April 21 for submitting report in a case against six, including Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) former vice-president (VP) Nurul Haque Nur, for alleged abduction, rape, abetting rape and offences under the Digital Security Act.
Today was set for the submission of the investigation report in the case.
But, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yeasmin Ara set a new date as the investigation officer (IO) of the case did not submit the report.
On the night of September 20, a case was filed with Lalbagh Police Station against Nur for his alleged involvement in provoking a rape incident.
