Date Time Police charge man after firearms, ammunition seized near Gunnedah A man has been charged with firearm offences after police seized three firearms, firearm parts and ammunition from a property near Gunnedah. Shortly after 12am yesterday (Wednesday 30 June 2021), officers attached to Oxley Police District responded to reports of gunshots fired at a home on Darby Road, Spring Ridge, approximately 65km south of Gunnedah. Police attended and spoke with the occupant of the home. Entry was forced to a bedroom where a man, aged 31, was arrested without incident. A crime scene was established after police observed a firearm and property believed to be the proceeds of crime in the room.

Two men will face court today after shots were fired at police during a pursuit in the state’s north. Police were patrolling the Tamworth area just before 3am yesterday, when a Ford Territory was seen leaving a fast food restaurant on Marius Street. The Ford was seen travelling on the New England Highway, and officers tried to stop the vehicle. The driver failed to stop, and a pursuit started through the suburbs of Calala, Nemingha, Kootingal, and Tamworth. During the pursuit, the passenger was seen leaning out the window, and allegedly pointed a firearm at police. Road spikes were used, and the Ford crashed through the fence of a golf course on Duri Road at 3.30am.

Date Time Police charge three after search warrant at Walgett Two men and a woman have been charged after police executed a search warrant at a house in Walgett yesterday. About 7.30am (Tuesday 11 May 2021), officers from the Walgett Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at a house in Pitt Street. A 38-year-old man, wanted on a warrant in relation to a robbery in company, was arrested as he attempted to flee the house. Police allegedly located and seized cannabis and methylamphetamine, mobile phones, a NSW Police issue torch, and a Honda motorcycle. While police were conducting the search a 20-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman arrived at the house. They were both wanted on outstanding warrants and were arrested.

Cops arrest a man sending sick messages to a 13-year-old girl online

20:03 EDT, 28 April 2021 A man has been charged after allegedly attempting to groom a person he believed to be a 13-year-old girl online, but who turned out to be an undercover police officer.  The 50-year-old man was arrested by detectives at his residence in Gunnedah, New South Wales about 8.30am on Wednesday.  The man believed he was speaking with a 13-year-old girl, had sexually explicit conversations about acts he wished to perform on the child and sent sexually explicit material, police will allege in court.  NSW Police regularly conduct undercover operations to catch those who attempt to exploit children (stock image)
