Pictures as former Darlington nightclub is finally reduced to rubble | Darlington and Stockton Times

WORK to flatten a popular Darlington nightclub is now complete after the huge building was pictured razed to the ground. The former Audio nightclub on Commercial Street has been reduced to nothing but a pile of rubble after weeks of demolition work. The club, which first opened its doors to Darlington in the 1970s, had remained empty for the past decade after its time as Audio. The venue had previously donned names including Zhivagos, Oscar s, Emmy s, the Plastered Parrot, The Lounge and Cactus Jack s. But towards the end of last year, the iconic building suffered a fire just a month after it had been purchased by Darlington Borough Council.
