New Curative kiosk helps keep the ASU community safe
ASU on Jan. 25 partnered with biotech company Curative to provide free COVID-19 testing via a supervised kiosk at the ASU Pavilion to students, faculty and staff as they return to class for the 2021 Spring Semester.
Located between Plaza Verde, the CAF and the Pavilion, members of the ASU community can schedule a contactless appointment with a QR code located at the kiosk or schedule an appointment online on the ASU COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Updates website.
The Curative kiosk tests for active cases of COVID-19 rather than virus antibodies which exist after COVID-19 recovery.
UPDATE: February 9, 2021
The Brazos County Health District confirmed three more residents have died of COVID-19. All three patients were hospitalized in their 60s and included one man and two women. We have now lost 184 Brazos County residents to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The health district reported there are 40 new known cases of COVID-19 in the county and the total number of active cases are at 1,358. As of February 7, 41 Brazos County residents are hospitalized with COVID-19 and the total ICU hospital bed occupancy rate is down to 106%. The total hospital bed occupancy rate is 81%.

As of February 7, 41 Brazos County residents are hospitalized with COVID-19 and the total ICU hospital bed occupancy rate is 133%. The total hospital bed occupancy rate is 87%.

SAN ANTONIO While most 14-year-olds are focused on their studies, one south Texas teen spent the week fighting to get his mother a potentially lifesaving treatment.
His efforts included writing a letter to Gov. Greg Abbott, and he was met with success Wednesday afternoon when Abbott reached out to the teen personally to ensure his mother would get the care she needs.

One 14-year-old Texas teen recently had his cries heard, and not by just a random passerby. Emiliano Sosa took to battle this past week to fight for his mother s life. According to San Antonio s KENS5, Sosa s mother, Erika Calderon, has been in the hospital for more than three weeks as she continues to battle the coronavirus.
His mother has been hooked up to a ventilator and intubated as she continues to fight for her life. However, in a Facebook post, Emiliano admits the treatment she is on does not seem to be working.
