On Thursday, members from the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers, Amarillo Police Department Motors Unit and Potter County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a joint task force to enforce the Move Over/Slow Down law. According to a news release, the task force will take place on major roadways in Potter County.
The release states that the law requires motorists to move over or slow down when certain vehicles are stopped on the side of the road with emergency lights activated. These vehicles include police, fire, EMS, Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) vehicles and tow trucks.

EAGLE PASS, Texas A U.S. Customs and Border Protection source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, advises that Army National Guardsmen potentially came under fire Wednesday at their post overlooking the Rio Grande north of Eagle Pass, Texas.
The troops initially reported that bullets may have struck their elevated watch tower and rounds were heard whizzing by their location. They did not return fire.
The incident was quickly investigated by Border Patrol, Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers, and local law enforcement.
Seven migrants were apprehended in the vicinity and separately confirmed hearing the gunfire. The seven reported seeing a person running along the river and quickly left the area after the shots were heard.

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers seized 467 pounds of marijuana near the Rio Grand River Saturday.
On April 17, Troopers responded to an area near the Rio Grande River in Starr County involving an SUV suspected of smuggling narcotics.
Troopers attempted to stop a white Ford SUV in which the driver absconded leaving behind bundles of marijuana, according to DPS.
Troopers seized a total of 467 lbs. of marijuana.
