Part of the series was attending a free skin cancer screening offered by Dr. Sturgeon and her colleagues. My farmer agreed to attend and allowed me to photograph the screening for my article. My farmer is red-headed and has worked on the farm his entire life, so he was the perfect candidate.
While Dr. Sturgeon didn t find anything major, she did locate some spots that needed to be removed and encouraged him to make an appointment. He did.
Since then, he has seen her faithfully every six months. Mostly, concerning spots are burned it s quick and relatively painless. In February, just prior to his checkup, a sizeable bump surfaced on his neck. He assumed it was acne or ingrown hair. Dr. Sturgeon determined otherwise. The lump and a spot along his clavicle were removed and biopsied.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The InfantRisk Center (IRC) is celebrating Motherâs Day by offering new and expectant mothers the opportunity to answer all their question about breastfeeding and medication by using the MommyMeds app.
According to researchers needing to go on medication is one of the main reasons women stop breastfeeding before they plan to.
Growing up, Chance Sebek â an eighth-generation Bell County resident â was always focused on sports.
âMy whole life I played sports competitively. But my collegiate baseball career (at Howard College) ended my sophomore year with me having rotator cuff surgery,â Sebek told the Telegram.
Although he was driven to remain within the athletics world by becoming a coach, Sebek said a new opportunity presented itself when he was being prepped for surgery. He had encountered two male nurses.
âI still remember that day,â the 36-year-old said. âPrior to the sedation kicking in, I realized for the first time that guys could be nurses too ⦠and shortly after (the surgery) I started looking into nursing opportunities.â
