Some people are concerned about kids putting the proverbial pedal to the metal on e-bikes, and officials are looking to do something about it before school ends for the year.
Teton County School District No. 1 advised Munger Mountain Elementary School families on Friday that students who rode Bus 17 in the morning or afternoon this past week may have been exposed to a COVID-19-positive individual.
âDue to the large number of students this may impact, it is being sent to the entire school,â Principal Scott Eastman said in an email. âPlease disregard if your student did not ride Bus 17 this week.â
A possible exposure does not mean a child will contract the coronavirus, but parents and guardians should monitor for symptoms. Because masks were worn âappropriatelyâ at the time of the exposure, May 17 to 20, students who rode the bus can continue to come to school, and other members of the household donât have to limit their activities.

Masks in schools could be a fixture until the end of the year.
Parents have lobbied the Teton County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees on both sides of the issue, but in the end the district doesnât have much say in the matter. State requirements decide when the district can apply to lift the school mask mandate, and so far the COVID-19 numbers do not allow that.
Even though the Teton County Health Department has moved the county to the âgreenâ risk level, the state lists it as being at higher risk when it comes to masks in schools.
