1 Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo sat in front of a backdrop of Diamondbacks logos and expressed optimism to reporters on a video call. Once again, a Diamondbacks player was hurt, but he hoped it would be a “quick flip” on and off the injured list. The Diamondbacks felt they’d caught the injury early and by doing so, they “may have dodged a bullet.” That “quick flip” comment came one month ago, when Arizona left-hander Madison Bumgarner landed on the IL with a shoulder issue. Bumgarner still isn’t back. The bullet dodge was a different injury involving the hamstring of Ketel Marte 12 days ago. Marte sat out two games, recorded a hit upon his return and re-injured his hamstring rounding first base. He, too, is now on the injured list.
