HOUMA, La. A 19-year-old man has been arrested for a Houma nightclub shooting that left five people injured about a month ago, it was announced Tuesday by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office.
Brandon Johnson, aka PeePee, was arrested in St. Charles Parish last Friday, May 21, according to Terrebonne Sheriff Tim Soignet.
The shooting occurred on April 25 at Lenny s Nightclub. Johnson faces five counts of attempted first-degree murder.

A Houma man was arrested after police said he sexually abused two teenage girls.
Jacoby Verret is charged with two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and aggravated crime against nature, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
His arrest resulted from an investigation that began in March after detectives were told that two teenage girls received indecent social media text messages, authorities said.
Detectives said they were able to verify the information that was sent to the girls and conducted interviews with witnesses who also provided statements that supported the allegations.

TERREBONNE PARISH - A man was arrested after detectives began investigating his social media interactions with teenage girls.
Police say Jacoby Verret, a 24-year-old Houma resident, sent the teenagers indecent messages and sexually assaulted one of the victims. Verret was an acquaintance of the victim s family, according to reports.
After detectives interviewed witnesses and took Verret in for questioning, he was charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and aggravated crime against nature.

The yearly Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics returned in-person in Thibodaux after being delayed a year due to the pandemic. Though last year’s event was held virtually, nothing captures the spirit like running alongside your fellow officers, Karla Loupe said.
The Lafourche Parish sheriff’s deputy has been participating in the Torch Run for 14 years but decided to try something different this year.
“It feels great,” Loupe said. “I usually ride a bike but since it’s a shorter distance this year because of COVID, I thought I would try to run it. It’s great to be back.”
