New Yorkers In Tier 1A Can Now Get COVID Vaccine Delaware County Public Health revealed who is getting the COVID-19 vaccine for group 1A in their area. “All Outpatient/Ambulatory front-line, high-risk health care workers of any age who provide direct in-person patient care, all staff who are in direct contact with patients (i.e., intake staff) and all front-line, high-risk public health workers who have direct contact with patients, including those conducting COVID-19 tests, handling COVID-19 specimens and COVID-19 vaccinations.” Enter your number to get our free mobile app The New York State Plan has also announced what 1B will entail; stating that teachers, first responders, public safety workers, and public transit workers, and people over 75 and older will receive vaccinations next.

Delaware County Immunization Clinics Assist Uninsured Delaware County Public Health (DCPH) is holding monthly immunization clinics on the second Friday of each month for people who are uninsured or underinsured, or are unable to be vaccinated at their physician’s office. The location, dates and times can be viewed on the health department s website at delawarecountypublichealth.com. County residents must call the Public Health at 607-832-5200 to schedule an appointment and to see if they qualify to be vaccinated. No walk-ins. This month s clinic will be this Friday, January 8 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at DCPH located at 99 Main St. in Delhi.

COVID-19 vaccinations are going on right now in Delaware County for a select group of people, but health officials say they’re not sure yet when vaccines will be available for the general public. It’s a common question they’re getting lately – when and how will the public learn when the COVID-19 vaccine will be available for everyone? Delaware County Public Health says they are currently vaccinating those identified in the Phase 1A priority population of healthcare personnel and long-term care residents and staff. As more COVID-19 vaccine becomes available, Iowa’s Infectious Disease Advisory Council will review guidance issued by the CDC’s advisory group to further prioritize populations to receive the vaccine. They are currently reviewing recommendations for the priority populations for Phase 1B and 1C. At this time, Delaware County does not have details of what these recommendations may be.
