Delaware Technical Community College s three Child Development Centers, located at the Georgetown, Dover and Wilmington campuses, recently received recognition for commitment and dedication to Delaware s children and families from the Delaware Department of Education, Secretary of Education Susan Bunting, EdD, and Gov. John Carney. We are appreciative of the professionalism and care that our dedicated teachers have continued to show, and we are proud of this recognition and all of them, said Dr. Mark T. Brainard, college president.
Food Bank of Delaware hosting drive-thru mobile pantries in March

The Food Bank of Delaware will host more drive-thru mobile pantries during March in each Delaware county for families struggling to afford food.
Mobile pantries are set for:
March 1 at 11 a.m., Crossroad Community Church, 20584 State Forest Road, Georgetown, register at marsussexcountyfood.eventbrite.com;
March 3 at 11 a.m., Dover International Speedway, 1131 N. Dupont Highway, Dover, register at mardovercountyfood.eventbrite.com;
March 5 at 11 a.m., Delaware Technical Community College, 400 Stanton Christiana Road, Newark, register at marnewcastlecountyfood.eventbrite.com.
The Food Bank of Delaware requests that participants make sure their trunks or back seats are cleared out so volunteers can load food with minimal interaction.

Delaware Technical Community College’s three Child Development Centers located at the Georgetown, Dover and Wilmington campuses recently received recognition for commitment and dedication to Delaware’s children and families from the Delaware Department of Education, the Secretary of Education Susan S. Bunting and Gov. John C. Carney.
“We are appreciative of the professionalism and care that our dedicated teachers have continued to show, and we are proud of this recognition and all of them,” said College President Mark T. Brainard.
These centers provide care and education for children of Del Tech students, faculty and staff, and the community, based on available openings. In addition to providing care for young children from infancy, they provide learning opportunities for the students in the Education Department under the supervision of qualified professions.

Cape May-Lewes Ferry updates travel restrictions
The Cape May-Lewes Ferry will allow bicyclists and foot passengers again with capacity restrictions, starting Monday, Feb. 22. According to a Feb. 18 press release, all bicyclists and foot passengers must have a reservation, are required to check in at the ticket counter prior to boarding, and must arrive at least 45 minutes before departure time. The passenger salon aboard the vessels will also be open; however, inside seating capacity is currently limited to about 20 percent. Passengers must wear face masks and stay socially distanced from anyone not in their traveling party. They are urged to pay attention to onboard directional signage to help control the flow of traffic on the vessel. Masks are required in the terminals, on board the vessels, and in outdoor areas while on terminal grounds. Exterior seating is open to all passengers.
