Delhi registered 13, 287 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, with 300 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours, said the health bulletin. The positivity rate has further dropped to 17.03 per cent, it added.
It has remained above the 20 per cent mark since April 17. It was 17.8 percent on Tuesday, 19.10 per cent on Monday, 21.67 per cent on Sunday and 23.34 per cent on Saturday. On April 22, a positivity rate of 36.2 per cent, the highest so far, was recorded.

Minister says the Company wrote to the Delhi Government expressing its inability to make any “additional supplies” of Covaxin
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday said that Bharat Biotech has refused the required doses of its Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin to Delhi. The Delhi Government had given an order for 67 lakh doses each of Covaxin and Covidshield after the Centre liberalised the process to allow States to directly procure 50 per cent of its requirement from vaccine manufacturers. However, Bharat Biotech has written to Delhi government expressing its inability to make any “additional supplies” of Covaxin as required by the national capital, he said.

New Delhi [India], May 12 (ANI): The Delhi government has been forced to shut down 100 vaccination sites over 17 schools that administered Bharat Biotech s COVAXIN vaccine due to a dearth of supply from the manufacturer, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Wednesday.
While addressing a press conference here, Sisodia informed that the reserve stock of the vaccine in Delhi has been exhausted. We had demanded 1.34 crore doses, 67 lakhs each of Covaxin and Covishield. Covaxin (Bharat Biotech) wrote to us yesterday that they can not provide it. They wrote we re making dispatches as per directives of concerned governmet officials . Obvious that these are central government officials, he said.

BJP says that Delhi government should have floated an international tender to buy vaccines from the international market. India on Monday registered 3,66,161 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally of infections in the country to 2,26,62,575 since the pandemic broke out in January last year. The overall infection count dropped below the 4-lakh mark after four consecutive days.
With 3,754 deaths, the toll climbed to 2,46,116. There are 37,45,237 active cases and 1,86,71,222 patients have recovered from the infection so far.
India has also administered 17,01,76,603 coronavirus doses, giving 6,89,652 shots on Sunday alone.
