Delhi s Sardar Patel Covid Care Centre starts functioning with 500 oxygen beds ANI | Updated: Apr 26, 2021 11:40 IST
New Delhi [India], April 26 (ANI): Amid a sharp rise in the number of COVID -19 cases and deaths in the national capital, the ITBP run Sardar Patel Covid Care Centre at the Radha Soami Satsang Beas facility with 500 oxygen beds started functioning today, said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday.
He further announced that 200 ICU beds will also be added at the Covid Care Centre in the next few days. He also thanked the Central government for providing doctors and medical staff of ITBP at the facility.

The Delhi government-run Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital on Friday reduced the number of COVID beds from 650 to 350 due to shortage of oxygen, officials said.
All 350 beds at the hospital are ICU beds, they said.
Asked if not enough oxygen was the reason to reduce the number of such beds, Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital (RGSSH) Medical Director B L Sherwal replied, Yes. A source said it was becoming increasingly difficult to operationalise more beds in view of oxygen shortage .
