Austin police on Wednesday identified a driver who was killed in a head-on collision last week in Northwest Austin as 28-year-old Jasmine Symon Campos.
Campos was driving west in the 3900 block of West Howard Lane just before 11:40 p.m. on Jan. 13, police said. She was in a Nissan Sentra.
Campos crashed into a Mercury Grand Marquis that was heading east, according to a preliminary police investigation.
Austin-Travis County EMS medics took the driver of the Grand Marquis to St. David s Round Rock Medical Center, where he was treated for serious injuries. Police said he was in stable condition on Wednesday.

Kristen Hullum, trauma injury prevention coordinator and nurse at St. David s Round Rock Medical Center said for both the Christmas season and New Years, if families decide to have gatherings, they should be keep it small and outside as a way to be mindful of COVID-19. Consider gathering in a backyard rather than inside, Hullum said. It s important to still maintain social distance, wear a mask and wash your hands.
Every year, Hullum said, the trauma centers see an increase of firework injuries over New Year s.
A pedestrian was injured in Northwest Austin, near Anderson Mill, possibly after being hit by a car on Saturday afternoon, according to EMS officials.
Austin-Travis County EMS officials called the incident an unconfirmed report. The victim has potentially life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. David s Round Rock Medical Center.
Medics responded at 1 p.m. to the 9900 block of Lake Creek Parkway, EMS officials said. Austin police said no vehicle stopped, and no witnesses had a description of the car.
