WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - An Amber Alert has been issued by the Davidson County Sheriffâs Office for a missing 14-year-old teenage girl.
Savannah Grace Childress is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes and was last seen wearing a yellow Mickey Mouse hoodie.
Sheriff s Office upgrades missing Denton teen to AMBER Alert

The alert for a missing teen in Denton has been upgraded to an Amber Alert because of her age, not because she was taken against her will, according to authorities.
A statewide AMBER alert was issued on Monday evening stating officials were looking for a person of interest in connection with the disappearance of Savannah Grace Childress, 14, who was last seen on Thursday at 1164 Canaan Church Rd in Denton.
Davidson County Sheriff Richie Simmons stated the AMBER Alert was issued due to the teen s age, not because officers believe she was abducted. He also said the person named in the broadcast alert has not been confirmed to be involved in the incident.

Silver alert issued for missing Denton teen

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued a silver alert for a teenager who went missing from Denton.
Savannah Grace Childress, 14, was last seen at 1164 Canaan Church Rd in Denton. She is believed to have dementia or another cognitive impairment, the alert said.
Childress is described as being 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 135 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes and was wearing a yellow Mickey Mouse hoodie when last seen.
