NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Sophomore Collin Burns had a career-high five RBI thanks to his first career grand slam to lead the Tulane (28-18, 17-6 AAC) to a 14-7 win over UCF (24-28, 14-14 AAC) on Sunday inside Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Burns, who is the only member of the team to have started all 46 games this season, finished the day by going 3-for-5 at the plate.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - No. 22 Tulane suffered a 9-1 setback on Sunday to No. 13 ECU at Lewis Field at Clark-LeClair Stadium.
Tulane loss marked the first time this season that the Green Wave had dropped an American Athletic Conference series. Tulane’s loss also moved the Green Wave to 25-17 overall and 14-5 in league play.
The Green Wave collected seven hits on the afternoon, but were unable to string enough hits together with runners in scoring position. ECU finished the afternoon with nine hits. Four of those hits were home runs which propelled the Pirates to their 33rd win of the season and moved ECU back into first place in league play.

WAYNESBORO Valley Baseball League will celebrate 98 years of pitches and home runs this summer, and the Waynesboro Generals are ready to deliver a winning season for its 71st season.
What would have been the team’s 70th season did not happen because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Everybody’s back on board and excited as far as getting back to normalcy,” said Tyler Hoffman, general manager of the Generals.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Tulane (24-14, 13-2 AAC) held on for a 6-5 American Athletic Conference win over Houston (16-23, 4-12 AAC) in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday evening at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
The win marked the Green Wave’s 13th in their last 14 games, as they took the series, 3-1, over the Cougars.
Redshirt sophomore outfielder Jared Hart went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a career-high four stolen bases, which are tied for the second most in a single game in program history. They are the most since Nick Boullosa accomplished the feat against Jackson State in 2011. Shortstop Collin Burns contributed three more hits, as Ethan Groff added two hits, two runs and two RBI.
