Eighth covid19-related death in Tobago
Tobago has recorded yet another covid-19 related death, an 86-year-old woman with comorbidities.
This brings to eight the number of covid19-related deaths on the island, the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development said in a statement on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Carmen Yorke, 75, of Bon Accord, became Tobago’s seventh covid19 victim.
The division said there are nine new covid19 cases and 135 active cases in Tobago. Six people have been discharged.
It said of the 5456 samples that were submitted to the Tobago Regional Health Authority and other local sites for testing, 439 tested positive for covid19.
Tobago records seventh covid19 death
Tobago has recorded its seventh covid19-related death.
In a statement on Tuesday, the THA Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development said the patient was a 75-year-old woman with comorbidities.
Tobago has 42 new covid19 cases and 132 active cases.
Five people have been discharged.
The division said of the 5,456 samples that have been submitted to the Tobago Regional Health Authority and other local sites for testing, 430 have been positive.

A grieving Tobago man is appealing to the public not to refuse God s help in the fight against covid19.
Stephen Crooks, who lost his wife Diana Cupid-Crooks to covid19 on May 18, said the covid19 vaccine was God s way of helping mankind recover from the pandemic.
Crooks, who got his first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, was swabbed on Thursday and is awaiting the result of his covid19 PCR test. His wife was not vaccinated.
He told Newsday on Monday, This coronavirus is not a joke. It is taking life.
