(Tribune File Photo) Huron County is working to renew a contract it has with Thumb Animal Shelter to provide a shelter for the stray dogs of the area. The previous contract the county had with the shelter was first signed in 2012 and was effective for three years, with two three-year extensions of that contract occurring since then. The county has paid the shelter $2,250 per month as part of the contract.

(Tribune File Photo) The Huron and Tuscola county health departments announced additional COVID-19 vaccine clinics later this week in response to the influx of new cases in the area. The Huron County Health Department’s clinics will take place on Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10, with additional clinics planned for the following week, at the Huron Crest Plaza. The Friday clinic will go from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the Saturday clinic will go from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
