Hasan condoles death of AL leader AKM Nazim Uddin

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 2, 2021 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Awami League leader and former general secretary of Chhatra League of Chattogram South unit AKM Nazim Uddin.
In a condolence message, the minister said the contribution of ex-student leader Nazim Uddin to the politics will be remembered forever.
Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Nazim Uddin, a former executive member of AL, Chattogram South unit, died at a hospital in the capital while undergoing treatment there.

DHAKA, Dec 30, 2020 (BSS)- Urging all to remain alert to any conspiracies, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said BNP is trying to create anarchy again, but people will resist their all evil attempts.
“The government is also determined to strictlyresist any misconduct for the shake people’s safety,” he said, addressing a meeting at an auditorium of Institute of Diploma Engineers’ Bangladesh (IDEB) in the capital.
Bangabandhu Diploma Engineers Association (BDEA) organised the meeting titled ‘Doings against Conspiracies of Anti-Liberation Forces’ with IDEB president AKM Hamid in the chair.

DHAKA, Dec 30, 2020(BSS) â Awami League observed Victory Day for Democracy today across the country marking the second anniversary of party’s victory in the 11th parliamentary election on December 30.
The 11th parliamentary election was a milestone in the country’s history of democracy and development as Bangladesh marched towards new journey of democracy overcoming darkness of violent politics and domination of evil forces and patrons of terrorists, militants and corrupt people through the elections, said a press release of AL.
Marking the day, the party took programmes including a discussion at the party’s Bangabandhu Avenue central office at 3pm, said a press release.

In a bid to monitor social media and OTT content, The Ministry of Information (MoI) has formed a committee of 15 on December 23, with the Additional Secretary (Broadcast) of the MoI as the chair, to formulate a policy guideline regarding the contents and advertisements shown on social media sites and OTT platforms. The other members of the committee include the Director General of Bangladesh Television (BTV), the Director General of Bangladesh Betar, the Director General of Department of Films and Publications, the Managing Director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) and representatives from Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL), ICT Division and Posts and Telecommunications Division.
